Setting Up the Group Inviter

To send direct group invites you have to setup your group first. It's very easy if you have experience, otherwise you can read our instructions below.

Two steps have to be fulfilled to send group invites:

  1. Bot has to be a member of your group.
  2. Bot must have the Invite People to this Group ability.

1. Inviting bot to your group

If your group has Open enrollment enabled, you don't have to do anything at all. Bot will join the group automatically.

Opening enrollment

Otherwise, if you don't want to open the group enrollment, you still can invite your bot to the group manually:

Inviting bot to the group
  1. Open Members & Roles => Members tab and click on Invite New Member... button.
  2. Choose the bot you are working with (see your SmartBots account for details).
  3. Click on Send Invitations button.

Bot will accept your invitation automatically. If you experience any troubles inviting bot, wait for our editor. He will guide you through invitation process.

2. Allowing bot to invite other residents

To allow bot to send direct invitations to Second Life residents, the Invite People to this Group ability must be set for bot.

Some group owners do not allow Everyone group members to send invitations, thus we recommend to create a separate role named Group Inviters.

Create inviter role.gif
  1. Open Members & Roles => Roles tab.
  2. Click on Create New Role
  3. Set Group Inviters as a group name, and Group Inviter as a title
  4. Check Invite People to this Group ability.
  5. Click Apply button.

Now assign bot to new Group Inviters role.

Set group inviter role.gif
  1. Switch to Members tab and locate the bot under member's listing.
  2. Check the Group Inviters role checkbox under Assigned Roles.
  3. Click on Apply.

Setup is complete, and now your bot is able to send group invitations. If you experience any troubles, our editor will help you to manage every step of this manual.
